James Jaggers Obituary

James K. Jaggers, a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away in the early hours of August 5, 2011, at The Village at Skyline Nursing Home from complications of lung cancer. James was born in Pennsylvania to William and Ann Jaggers, and had a brother, John, and a sister, JoAnn. In late 1962 James graduated from Fresno Community College in Fresno, California with a degree in Drafting. He married Barbara Burns on November 10, 1962, also in Fresno. They had two daughters, Cathy and Sharri. James was a Notary Public for the States of Indiana and West Virginia and retired as a Licensed Land Surveyor in Colorado with licenses in California, Nevada and West Virginia. He was a standing member of the Masons Concorde Lodge 307 of Vienna, Virginia and the Colorado Springs Cuda Club. The family wishes the thank the many people who touched dad's life, especially Linda Lantz, Bob and Alice Solomon, Eric W., and Dick and Carmen McDoinald. James is survived by his daughter, Cathy Jaggers and daughter and son in law, Sharri and Byron Youngstown; grandsons, James, Tony and David; siblings, John Jaggers and JoAnn Zitto; and his dog, Boo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Barbara. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Cappadona Funeral Home Chapel, 1020 E. Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, (719) 520-1817. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your local chapter of the Cancer Society of America or to a charity of your choice.

Jim was a wonderful man in our Silver Sneakers class at the Y. I called him Hamstring Jim because no matter what we were stretching, to Jim it was always a hamstring. He will be missed in our class.
