James Michael Justus, a cornerstone of the Colorado Springs commercial brokerage community, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. After courageously battling cancer for 14 months, Jim leaves behind a legacy of professional excellence and personal warmth that profoundly touched all who knew him.
Jim co-founded Olive Real Estate Group in 1994 and served as the President and Managing Broker until 2023. Jim was instrumental in shaping the company's ethos and direction, embodying the spirit of Olive with his unwavering guidance and camaraderie.
In 1984, Jim married Nancy Stage Robinson, a renowned local artist. Together, they shared a love for the arts, gourmet dining, and global travel. The light of their lives was their grandson, Riley Casey, whom Jim and Nancy adored and mentored, sharing with him the beauty of cultural explorations.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Morgan (Ryan); grandson, Riley; and sister, Patricia (Robert). His passing represents a profound loss to Colorado Springs - a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, colleague, and visionary whose impact will resonate for generations. Jim's family and friends will deeply miss his remarkable presence, and they are forever grateful for the enduring foundations he built, both in business and in life.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for February 6, 2025 on the 8th floor of SpringHill Suites at 402 S. Tejon Street. There will be an open house from 3:00pm-6:00pm and a remembrance at 4:30pm.
