James Alexander Edward Hubbard Lewis

James Alexander Edward Hubbard Lewis, 73, departed Colorado Springs, Colorado and went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2021. James was delivered into this world on January 25, 1948 in Ramstein – Landstuhl AFB by his mother, Dorothy Lewis. There was nothing quite like the bond between Dorothy and James. From before he was born until the time he set out on his own and started his own life, the two had a special connection.

On April 15, 1994, James married the love of his life, Wisteria Maecine Wilson in Colorado Springs where he lived for 52 years. Their marriage was full of ups and downs, adventures, and many incredible memories. James and Wisteria's unconditional love was surreal. They found in each other their best friend, greatest support, biggest comfort and strongest motivation. Ultimately, he was a loving husband, son, father, brother, godfather, grandfather and friend.

James was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman. His love for the outdoors rested in a sense of wonder and awe at the beauty of nature and the wildness of the outdoors. James also was a craftsman and tinkerer. He found pleasure in creating and fixing things and a job well done.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Wisteria Wilson; mother, Dorothy Lewis; stepfather, Charles Lewis; brother, Arthur Lewis and sister, Libby Lewis.

He lives on in memory in the hearts and minds of his daughter, Victoria Owen of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Eli B. Chase and his wife Molly, of Scarborough, Maine; granddaughters, Maya Rose and Nina Pearl Chase; nephew, Tobias Ferguson of Colorado Springs; niece, Porche Ferguson; godson, Erik Miller of Calhan, Colorado and best friend, Dr. Robert Miller of Tennessee as well as many other family members, friends and a loving community.

The Visitation will be held on November 14, 2021 at 9:15 am at Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory located at 1104 S. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. The Service will be held on the same day at 10:00 am followed by Repast.

James will be dearly missed.
