James Lucero Obituary

Lucero
James Nevarez Lucero
10/11/64-09/13/17
We celebrate the life and mourn the loss of our dearly loved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Jim Lucero, who has entered into the next stage of his journey. Jim was born in Canutillo, Texas and lived his early life in Las Cruces, NM, where many family members and friends remain. He moved to Colorado in 1992, living here for the next 25 years. Once he learned to walk on ice, he embraced all that Colorado had to offer: hiking, mountain biking, dual-sport and quad riding, camping, and the Broncos. He thoroughly enjoyed introducing his grandchildren to camping and quad riding.
Jim was best known for his love of tools and a "good deal." He made a lifelong business out of finding Deals (with a capital D!) and reselling Snap-on, Mac, Cornwell, and many more items that he could passionately describe in detail.
Family was extremely important to Jim. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Laura; sons Leo (Jessica), Sam, Alex; daughter Amanda (John); five grandsons; sisters Rosa (Ernest), Dora (Ron), Rebecca (Hector), Lea (Ray); brother Adam (Conni); numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 22, 2017 at The Journey Apostolic Church, 1205 Ridgetop, Las Cruces, NM 88001.

Jim, the days without you are going to be very lonely. Time will have to take it's course, for there's nothing left to do. I will always love you and I know you loved me too. Your memories will always be a part of me. I'm grateful that we spoke for so many hours, where I got to know your truth. Rest in peace my beloved brother.
