James Maloney Obituary

James F. Maloney
James F. Maloney, a longtime Allentown resident and member of St. Thomas More Parish who worked as a distinct manager for AT&T, died on November 12 in Burlington, MA. He was 83. Born and raised in Freeland, Maloney played drums in St. Anns marching band and served in the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and remained a fervent fan of the Fighting Irish football team of Notre Dame University. He and his wife Anne moved to the Brooksby Village retirement community in Peabody, MA, in 2011. Survivors: In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Fernandez, of Alexandria, VA, and Antonette Fernandez, of Melrose, MA; and one granddaughter, Ruby, also of Melrose. He also leaves a brother, Timothy, of Chestertown, MD; and a sister, Joan Weiss, of Columbia, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services: A Mass to celebrate Maloneys life will be scheduled at St. Thomas More in the spring. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Patrick Parish, 9 Pomeworth St., Stoneham, MA, 02180.
