James McHugh Obituary

James Arnold McHugh, 71, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his home in Bella Vista.

He was born on July 17, 1942 in Mattoon, Illinois to James William McHugh and Elizabeth Arnold McHugh.

He was a teacher at North, Horace-Mann, Russell Junior High and Coronado High School. He loved his students and the teachers he worked with.

He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church where he was a Lector, served communion and was very active within the church. He was a member of St. Bernard Men's Club and couples golf; Meals on Wheels and Care & Share of Gravette. He was greatly loved by his family and friends.

Mick was a shining example of God. He dearly loved his family and friends. He liked watching his Cardinals on TV when he could. He loved going to watch his grandchildren in their activities whenever possible.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Heather.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue McHugh of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two sons, Jay McHugh and wife Michelle of Loganville, Georgia, Chris McHugh of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one daughter, Shannon Briscoe and husband John of Willow Spring, Missouri; two brothers, Jon "Tucker" McHugh and wife Susan of Edmond, Oklahoma, Dr. Joe McHugh and wife Linda of Chaska, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Mike, James Devon, Matt and Kenny; and many nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.
