James Pedersen Obituary

September 16, 1956 - January 25, 2008. James C. (Jim) Pedersen died unexpectedly on January 25, 2008 in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado from a gun cleaning accident. He was born September 16, 1956 in Inwood, Iowa and graduated from West Lyon Community High School in 1974. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs for four years. He then attended University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated with a degree in computer science. He worked for MCI for many years as a computer analyst and currently was self-employed as a real estate appraiser. He touched many hearts with his quick wit and fun loving personality. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish in his beloved Colorado mountains. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Niffy Pedersen (Justin Voos), San Francisco, California, and Megan (Mason) Armstrong, Colorado Springs; his beloved grandson, Gabriel Hunter Armstrong; his parents, Don and Karol Pedersen, Inwood, Iowa; three sisters, Koni (Paul) Schiller of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kathy (Ron) Scholten of Larchwood, Iowa, and Nancy (Bruce) Schlotfeldt of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held in Jim's honor Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at Celebration of Life Funeral Home, 5440 N. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
