James Blain Stewart II, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from this earth to Heaven on October 3, 2021. He was born July 11, 1930 in Jackson, Michigan, to Elizabeth Swanson Stewart and James Blain Stewart I. After graduating from Vandercook Lake High School in1948, he received a BTH (Bachelor of Theology) degree from Baptist Bible Seminary in New York, a MA from Eastern Michigan University and an EDS (Education Specialist) from the University of Missouri.

Jim loved working with people and he will be remembered for the positive impact he had on thousands of lives, especially in his service as a Youth Pastor, High School Counselor, High School Teacher and Adoption Case Worker.

Jim deeply loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Stewart; his children, Valarie Garber (Lon), Kip Stewart (Sue), Beth Losiewicz (Paul) and Kris Stewart (Linda); seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Philip Stewart (Jane) and a sister, Margaret Miller (Arthur).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 16 at 2:30 pm

Uncle Jim always told me two things- that I was a good mother and that he was praying for me. That meant more to me than he ever knew. We will miss him.

Mr. Stewart was one of my favorite teachers at Mitchell High School. I was in his Psychology class 1978-1979 when I was a senior.
