James Waddill Obituary

James S. Waddill, 76, died at home on June 12, 2010 from Lymphoma. He was born November 24th, 1933 in Colorado Springs to Sherman and Frances Brewer Waddill. He graduated from CSHS in 1952, receiving his BA degree from Western State College, Gunnison, in 1958. Jim served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1953 he married Shirley Neppel in Colorado Springs. After 31 years of service, retired from the Colorado Department of Correction as a Parole Agent/Supervisor in 1991. Additional employment included 10 years at ComCor, and recently drove cars for Avis/Budget. Jim and Shirley have sung in the Pueblo Chorale Society for 36 years where they resided for 24 years. Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley of 56 years; brother, Tom (Vicki) Waddill; three nieces; one great- niece, three great-nephews and Shirley's family. He was preceded by his parents and five children, three infants and two teenagers. Jim served as a Chalice Bearer at St. George's Anglican Church and formally Grace Church. In addition to enjoying his family and friends, he loved playing golf, reading, skiing, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 76. Services will be held on Saturday, July 10th at 11:00am, St. George's Anglican Church, 2760 Fieldstone Road, Colorado Springs, with inurnment at 2:00pm, at Evergreen Cemetery, block 62. Memorials may be made to St. George's Church or Pueblo Chorale Society, P.O. Box 7757, Pueblo West, CO, 81007.

Shirley, I knew Jim during the years we both worked for ComCor, altho at different facilities. I am so sorry to learn of his passing and regret not being able to attend services. He was a kind, gentle, and gracious man. What I will always remember is seeing you and Jim dancing at ComCor Christmas parties with such grace and flair. You two were was absolutely beautiful to watch. May the memories you both shared comfort and sustain you until you meet again.

Dear Shirley, Just heard about Jim and we send our sincerest sympathy. Although we have not seen each other in many years we do have have many happy memories of our times together in our "younger" years.
