James Warren Obituary

Jim was born December 5, 1947 in El Paso, Texas and died unexpectedly on January 12, 2016, due to complications from a fall. Proud of being a Texan, he maintained that "cowboy" image throughout his lifetime. When Jim was 14 years of age, his father decided to move the family from Colorado Springs to southern California where Jim graduated from high school.

Since he had spent most of his young life in Colorado Springs, he was called back to Colorado, moving his family from southern California back to Ellicott, Colorado, where he bought himself a small "ranch". During his lifetime Jim embarked on many professions. He was a carpenter extraordinaire and became a General Superintendent for many homebuilders in Colorado Springs as well as Steamboat Springs. After leaving the construction arena, Jim owned and ran several businesses to include a towing company, a property rehab and inspection service, as well as running a Mac Tool truck.

Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity, his kindness, and his willingness to accept people at face value. He will be missed by his large, extended family as well as his many friends. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Warren of Denver, Colorado and James Warren III (Lorie) of Colorado Springs, his sister Claudia Smith, his nephews Harlan Smith, Russell Smith and Darin Smith (Tatjana) as well as 3 great nephews and 2 great nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Charitable contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.

You made a lasting impression on me, that's for sure. I'll never forget you and everything you've done for me. You were ALWAYS there for me, even when nobody else was and you didn't have to be. I'll never forget you always singing "you are my sunshine" and many fun times of staying up all night drinking and rolling dice. You'll forever be in my thoughts and ALWAYS in my heart. I wish that I could've made it to say goodbye!! R.I.P my friend!!!!
