Jane Ackerman Obituary

JANE (LAMME) ACKERMAN
Jane Lamme Ackerman died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 4, at her home in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born and raised in Walsenburg, CO, the daughter of Dr. James and Patricia Lamme, and attended Walsenburg High before graduating from Arizona State University. After spending a few years in Southern California, she moved back to her beloved state of Colorado where she lived for the rest of her life.
Jane had a successful career in advertising, sales, and fashion, first in California and then in Colorado, and for years operated a very popular clothing resale shop in Colorado Springs.
Jane cared deeply for family and friends and was always the first to accept an invitation to a party or to help organize a family get-together. Nothing gave her greater pleasure than a trip to explore the mountains, particularly the area in and around Walsenburg, with family and friends in tow. She had a strong love of dogs, and her beloved dachshund, Jimmy Dean, was with her until the end Predeceased by her parents and her sister Judith Cochrane, Jane is survived by her brother, James Lamme (Wendy Linscott) of Egremont, MA; sister, Jennifer Mandelson (Richard) of Denver; nieces Taylor Lamme and Emily Mandelson; and nephews Christopher Cochrane (Melissa), Patrick Cochrane, and Paul Mandelson; as well as the close friends who cared deeply for her, including Les Sveen.
The family plans a private memorial later this year in the Colorado mountains Jane loved to call home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jane's honor to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.

Jane and I were very close during her high school year and remained friends through the years. I have many fond memories of Jane and I know she holds a special place in heaven. My mother (Angela) loved Jane and I am sure has already greeted her there. God bless Jane, the world will miss you!
