Jane was my neighbor many years ago. A hard working lady. I was only a teen when she was here. My prayers to her.

Remembering Jane on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...

I was just going through some photographs of my trip to NYC in 2015. I came across this one and uploaded it, and decided to search Twitter, and ended up on this page.

I remember we were friends in high schoo,l Eastern High School of Commerce in the Danforth area.

Time went by and we lost contact, I'm very sad for that. I've been thinking of you recently and remember seeing your photo in a Toronto magazine, after 9/11. I thought I had kept that magazine, but found after we moved that I hadn't.

I found your photo on line. It's been a long time since we last saw each other and now we never well.

Dear Jane,
I'm so sorry your life was cut short by this horrendous crime. Recently, I spent some time with Bobby. He misses you more than you could imagine. Although I tried to help him feel better, it didn't work. He will never get over losing you and the pain he feels. I wish you had stayed home that day for any reason you might have been able to use. Although I never knew you, I know Bobby and have for a long time. His pain is much more than I could bear alone as he does. He is a good man, Jane - always has been, always will be. He will love you forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I could not stand to live with the pain he feels in losing you. It's very sad. I hope one day he will heal, never to forget you, but to let his heart feel better while he is still here with us. He's far too wonderful to spend his remaining years alone. I wish you were still here with him so he could feel better. Wishing you peace and God's blessings, Jane. You were well loved here.

Dear Jane,
I have thought about you so often this year. Its been a tough year for me and so many times I have wanted to throw in the towel. And then I thought of you and all you had been through and all your family has had to endure and it gave me the strength to realize how much I have. I believe you are a cancer survivor and your courage amazes me. I'm actually working as a volunteer at a cancer benefit today and thinking of you and other loved ones and volunteering in your honor. As always, your family is in my prayers. Thanks for helping me through the hard times this year! Forever in my heart!

Think of you all the time and miss you more than ever.it just seems like yesterday that this tragedy happened.

I thought of Jane today. Auntie Jane to me. I was moving my mom to a retirement home (Shirley was her best friend for a good portion of her life) and found a needle point picture of Jane. It captures her essence and before I even looked at the back, knew it was her just by the way she held her head and her posture. She was a beautiful woman. I miss her. Drew and Brent, it would be so nice to catch up one day. Sending much love and know I have wonderful memories of your mother.

Watching the memorial this morning and heard my last name. That makes you think a little more about how fortunate you are and how precious every second of life is. I am sure there is no legal relation but we are all related in more ways than one. God bless

Thinking of you today on this anniversary. I just read Jane's daughter in law's post from last year. It saddens me that her little girls will never be able to meet their grandmother. It's another reminder of how this day not only impacts those of us who witnessed it but, generations to come. As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

9/11 was a tragic day for all of us and we wish that this tragedy had never happened. In reading about the deceased she obviously was a strong woman who managed to smile even though she had went through a lot. She is in a deep sleep now, but when she is awakened from sleep by Jesus Christ, the Great Resurrector, Mrs. Jane Beatty will have a bigger smile when she is pain free and has the opportunity of living forever. Last week our church had a prayer list with all the victims of the 9/11 attacks and I chose Jane since my 4 year old daughter shares her name. Please know that Jane and her family are in my prayers and I wear a bracelet with her name on it in honor of her life. God Bless.

Hi all,
I am Alison, Jane's daughter-in-law, I am married to her eldest son Drew (Jane has a younger son Brent as well). Drew and I are the parents of Jane's two beautiful granddaughters who never had the chance to know Jane.
Yesterday was a difficult day for so many, our hearts and thoughts go out to all that lost loved ones on Sept 11, 2011.
I found it especially difficult as
I watched our daughters watch the senseless acts of 9/11 unfold during the 10 year anniversary ceremonies and documentaries.
We gave each other extra tight hugs yesterday.
Live Life Today.

As I do every year, I'm thinking of Jane this day. The way the media worked today made everything come to the forefront. It seems like it was just yesterday the world and your family lost you so senselessly! ***I also wonder if any of her family ever was able to see her memorial square I made for the 911 quilt. I've no idea where that quilt exists 10 years later, but hope it still exists SOMEwhere.

Always thinking of you and missing you Jane. Mom passed away July 24th but not before celebrating her 90th Birthday with all her family including our brother Rick who she hadn't seen in 25 years. Drew, Alison,Vanessa, Alex, Brent and Haley were there too.
Nine years have passed quickly but you have not faded from our hearts.

honouring my sister Jane and running for 1 hr 30 min wearing her name. I would think that would be about 15-16 kilometers.
Jane was never a runner, but I am sure
she would be thrilled to know that you ran for her.
I can't believe that it has been 8 years - it still doesn't seem real.
I had lunch with Jane's son Brent today and took my Mom
(89) Irises, Jane's favourite flower.

Dear Jane and Family,

This morning Lackland AFB did a base formation run in remembrance of all the victims of 9/11 and the military members that have served and lost their lives since that day. I was given Jane's name to wear during the run and wanted to take the time to know who she was. From the small amount of information I have read it seemed like she was a very strong and resilient woman. I am proud to wear her name and run in memory of her today. I will still be wearing her name when I run this afternoon for 1hr 30min during the 9hr 11min remembrance run and she will be my motivation to keep moving. I am honored to serve in her memory and so many others that were lost that day.

Happy Birthday!!!

I made the quilt square for Jane in the 911 quilt and I promised I'd never forget her. This year on 911 it was the same. She was in my thoughts throughout the day, even as I was involved with many other things. To her family: my cyber hugs......I wrote about Jane in my blog again this year at www.gettingtocrazy.blogspot.com

Another year has passed and, even though I didn't know Jane personally, I happened to tune in to the radio just in time to hear her name read at last year's memorial service. The loss of all these innocent lives still haunts me every day.

Jane's name stands out to me because we share the same last name. I was at the WTC as part of the rescue effort. I didn't know Jane then and I didn't know I was looking for her. Now I know. I will never forget her. My prayers for Jane and her family will continue. Truth, Justice, and Love will prevail.

Boy,this day doesn't get any easier even after six years. I thought I was doing okay until
I heard the same CBC news report.
Only three names came through the
news cast and the third name was Jane's. I lost it. I had lunch with
my nephew, Jane's son Brent and
chatted about Jane over a beer and
a glass of wine. Later in the day
I went over to my Mom's for dinner.
Thanks to all of you for your kind
words and keeping the memory of Jane
alive.

Jane: I haven't forgotten you! Yesterday was another tearfull and difficult anniversary for me. I thought of you all day!

It seems like yesterday that we lost a wonderful lady. I remember Jane's wonderful sense of humour and courage.

I can't believe it will soon be 6 years since the memorial for Janey. Beth Chrystal (Jane's mother) is my mother's sister so Janey and JoJo (Joanna Chrystal) are my first cousins. We're quite a small family so really appreciate the kindness of strangers. Love and peace to all.

One year after 9/11, I went to a tribute mass at the Cathedral in Chicago. We were each asked to pick a name of one of the victims of 9/11 out of a big bowl. I picked Jane Beatty. Although I never knew Jane, I think of her and the people she so sadly had to leave behind. I pray for you and want you to know that Jane will always be remembered.

5 years later and I still haven't forgotten you, Jane. I said I wouldn't and I never will. Today I wore my shirt with your picture on it and everyone I met learned about you - how you loved and were loved. I've never been lucky enough to see the 911 quilt in person but I hope your family was happy with the block I did for you. You are forever in this quilter's heart.

5 years. As I was watching the tribute, this is the name which caught my attention. Why I don't know but God does. I have said a special prayer for you family. I pray you find the Peace you are looking for. God bless you and keep you.

For some reason I googled Jane's

name today. Why today I don't know.

Maybe because I am missing her.

Jane is my sister and it was wonderful to see all the heart felt

tributes to her.

When I saw the name Jane Beatty, I felt a strange feeling as my maiden name was Jayne Beatty....different spelling, but immediate identification. I came from Atlantic City, so our paths may have crossed before. I feel I know this Jane, and pray she rests in peace.

Hello, my name is Courtney and I am a student at St. Pius X High School in Houston, Texas. At our school every student was given a braclet with a name of someone who lost their life on September 11, 2001. I chose your beloved Jane S. Beatty without realizing that if you put her first name and her middle initial together it would then spell out my last name. Maybe this was an omen that I was meant to get Ms. Beatty. I send out my deepest condolences to her family and friends for I dont know if I would be able to cope with the loss of a close loved one. May God grant you peace and courage through these difficult times and may you be able in my letter to find a little closure to help heal the wound. I know that the scar will never go away but maybe with the thought that others care will help the mending process. I will keep Ms. Beatty in my prays.

My Name is Brent McIntosh. Jane was my mother. What a beautiful thing to read all the nice comments about my mother and her life. My brother and I miss her dearly.

I'm posting a picture of Jane's block for the 911 quilt.

This note is addressed to all of Jane's family and friends. I have chosen to make a quilt block for Jane to be put in the 911 memorial quilt. Working on this block has been very emotional for me. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jane but I hope as you view her block online or in the quilt itself when completed and on display, you will keep in mind that Jane's block was made with sincere concern and warm thoughts by a wife, mother and grandmother in No. California who will never forget her.

Jane was a lady of courage! She always had a smile for anyone who came into her life. Miss you Jane. I met Jane on the ferry to New York and discovered we lived only a few blocks apart. Although I only knew her for a short while, she would always make me laugh on the trips back and forth to New York.

I hadn't seen her for about a year and then one friday morning, there she was again. She told me of her illness and I admired the fact that she still continued to go to work, not letting the illness get the better of her.

We would share stories of going crabbing in Atlantic Highlands and she would talk of her husband and how she would help him on the weekends.

I didn't realize that Jane's office had moved to the WTC. It was a complete shock to me when a friend from the boat saw her name in the paper.

I'll be thinking of you often, especially in the summer when the Carolina Skiffs are all out fishing on the Bay.

I picked Jane out of the hundreds because we share a last name. Then I found a hero. What an inspiration she must have been to everyone who knew her. She will be mine. I will pray for her friends and family and think of her often when I need courage.

When our new bishop was installed on 9/19 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, every one in the congregation had the name of one victim of 9/11 to pray for. I had Jane's name. I prayed for her then and continue to pray for her, wondering what kind of a person she was. I've checked the NYT profiles everyday, but somehow missed her profile. I just found it on the web. Now I have a face for my prayers. Bless you all who love her. My own husband died five years ago, just as suddenly, and I've learned that love transcends death. Unfortunately, love is also why we hurt. God bless.
