Jane Sheehan Obituary

Sheehan
Jane Adelaide
Sheehan

June 4, 2022

Jane Adelaide Sheehan passed away June 4, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She was born February 10, 1937 to Thomas and Adelaide Madden in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Jane attended Reading High School in Massachusetts and graduated in 1954.
Jane worked as a Department of the Air Force civil servant at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts where she met her future husband, John, in 1959. She was a proud Air Force spouse and devoted mother, and in her later years she had a successful real estate career. She was active with several Catholic school programs, the Retired Enlisted Association Auxiliary, and the Blue Star Mothers organization in the Colorado Springs area. Always the competitor, she loved playing cards, board games, the occasional gambling in Cripple Creek, bowling, crossword puzzles and all forms of trivia games, especially with a glass of wine. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph; brother, Thomas Madden; and grandsons, Curtis and Avery Kernkamp.
Jane is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, CMSgt John Sheehan, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters, Maureen (Timothy) Jackson of Chesapeake, Virginia and Melinda Sheehan of Parker, Colorado; sons, COL Thomas (Robin) Sheehan, U.S. Army, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Timothy (Heather) Sheehan of Olathe, Kansas; brother, Richard Madden of Milton, Washington; granddaughters, Hillary and Lauren Kuklenski, and Ashley Sheehan; grandsons, Hunter and Hayden Sheehan, Jeffrey Kernkamp, and Jack Sheehan; goddaughter, Jane Littlefield; and numerous nieces, nephews, sponsored Air Force Academy cadets and dear friends.

I have lost a very good friend. I taught at Benet Hill academy and Jane was the president of the Women's guild. Everybody loved Jane; she was always kind and loving to the girls and everyone. She could laugh at almost everything. She never failed to ask for a blessing. She was a great lady and a good friend.

Dear Melinda...I am so sad to hear this news. Losing one's mother is such a huge loss. There is never a day that goes by that I don't think of my mother...and I am certain that will be true for you as well. So happy that you had such a deep and close relationship with your mom. Your memories will continue to give you strength and joy. My prayers are for you and your family.
