Jane Vogel Obituary

Jane Naomi Vogel (nee Karberg) died June 23, 2013 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, after a long illness. She was 81 years old. Jane was born August 28, 1931, in Janesville, Wisconsin to Lola and Arthur Karberg. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her older brother, John. Jane worked in the family dry cleaning business for many years and attended Milton College in Milton, Wisconsin, where she met her husband Russ, who survives her. Jane and Russ married on June 20, 1953, marking their 60th wedding anniversary 3 days before her passing. Jane and Russ made their home in suburban Chicago until their move to Colorado Springs in 1970. She was employed by Colorado College for seventeen years, retiring in 1994. They have been members of First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs for 42 years. Jane sang in the choir for much of that time. In addition to her husband, Russ, Jane is survived by 3 children - Catherine (Harry) Mosco, Nancy (Dana) Ohlson, and Paul (Joi) Vogel; 3 grandchildren - Amy (Tim) Wuestneck, Lauren Ohlson, and Daniel Ohlson, and her great-grandson, Will Wuestneck. The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical and nursing staff of professionals working the ER and 5th floor of Penrose Hospital. Their loving care and compassion for Jane during her visits to their departments was above and beyond any expectations of hospital care.
