Jane Dawson Warren
1933 - 2025
Jane Carol Dawson Warren, dedicated wife and mother, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO, at the age of 91. Born on December 22,1933 in Tulsa, OK to Margaret Ann Oliver and Elmer Rapher Tiner, Jane lived a full and exciting life in the oil fields of West Texas and other western states.
Jane attended Will Rogers High School, in Tulsa, OK, and was a member of Young Life, where she met Sidney Earl Dawson Jr., whom she married in 1951. They moved to Odessa, TX, in 1952, where they raised their two children, Leslie and Robert.
Jane worked at Ford Motor Credit in numerous capacities, starting as Discount Clerk. Due to market changes she navigated to Sewell Ford in Odessa, working as Bookkeeper and then as Secretary to the President of First Savings and Loan. Later she returned to Ford Motor Credit as a Credit Analyst and was promoted to Sales Representative traveling the West Texas area.
Sid and Jane spent their leisure time on the lake. They would fish, ski, or boat with their children and friends. In 1981, they were traveling to a vacation in Mexico when Sid suffered an embolism and died in Las Cruces, NM. They were married 30 years.
Three years later, Jane met Tom Warren and they married in 1984. When Tom's company transferred him to Phoenix, AZ, Jane retired from Ford Motor Credit and followed her husband.
Tom and Jane loved Arizona, living in Scottsdale and later Prescott. Jane became involved in Welcome Wagon and also Hope Ministry, a nonprofit caring for children who had lost a parent. Both Sid and Jane had lost a parent when they were children.
In 2003, Jane and Tom relocated to Colorado Springs, CO to be near family.
Jane loved to help people. While attending Village Seven Presbyterian in Colorado Springs, she started Helping Hands to provide food to those in need, and later, having moved to San Angelo, TX, in 2007, she initiated and coordinated the ministry of Angel Food at First Presbyterian Church.
In the following years she was actively involved in the Senior Center, playing bridge each Friday and making friends. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, dining out, shopping, playing with her many animals, decorating her home and gardening.
Jane was married to Tom Warren for 33 years until his death from cancer in 2017.
In 2017, she moved back to Colorado Springs to live with her daughter. Jane was with her daughter and son-in-law for eight years before peacefully succumbing to congestive heart failure in their home. She exemplified a woman devoted to her family, friends, and faith, showing great strength of purpose through life's hardships while maintaining a positive spirit with a ready smile.
A memorial service will be held at Village Seven Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX, on Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. Jane is now in the presence of God, having professed her faith in Jesus Christ, who died for her sins. The Great Exchange is fulfilled.
Jane is survived by her daughter Leslie Dawson Schwager (Tim), Colorado Springs, CO, grandson Randall Schwager (Emma) and great-grandsons and great-granddaughter of Denver; son Robert Earl Dawson (Diane) of Eastland, TX, granddaughter Beverly of Austin, grandson Taylor Dawson (Jennifer) and great-grandsons of Pleasanton, TX; sister-in-law Evelyn Tiner of Tulsa, nephew David Tiner, Dallas, niece Susan Gustafson (Erik) and their twins of Tulsa; sisters-in-law Judy Dawson Peterson (Ron) and Rema Dawson of Tulsa.
