Janet Barker Obituary
She nourished people around her through her faith, love and cooking. Janet loved whole heartedly studying God's word, crocheting, cooking, reading, spending time out doors and sharing life with those she loved.
Jann is survived by her husband, and love of her life, Posie Barker; brother, Ray Singmaster; son, Donald Helmick; daughter, Janna Helmick; and Posie's four children Francine, Mike, Dianna, and Karen. Jann was blessed to have spent time with her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents-Ralph and Ida Singmaster; brothers-Terry, Steve and Darrell Singmaster; daughter, Sucie Diaz and her grandson Nickolous.
Services to be held at Memorial Gardens-Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Reception to follow.
Please send donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.

Jann, my dearest friend and closest confidante for so many years. We shared many laughs and many tears... so glad we were able to share those precious days together in January! You will forever be in my heart and prayers and remember to hold those pearly gates open for me!!

Jann was not only my first boss but also family. Her strength and inspiration are with me each and everyday. I could not have asked for a better mentor in the business world. As a kid, she was always funny, loving and a caring person. I know she will be missed by many and forgotten by few! Today, I have orange peels for you my friend!

Jann hired me, site unseen, in 1986 after I was a "babysitter" for one of the properties that she supervised for Highland Properties. That was the beginning of what was to be a long and cherished friendship. The times I will remember with great fondness is when we sat together studying God's word and praying for one another. I will miss her and look forward to seeing her in God's Kingdom.
