Janet D. Conover, dearly loved by her family and wide circle of friends, passed away on July 21, 2023, after an impressive fight against Parkinson's Disease.
Janet was a proud mother, a dear friend and respected community member. Janet served on the boards of the Palmer Land Conservancy, Sunny Vista Care Center, the Colorado College's Business and Community Alliance and the Southeast YMCA. Janet volunteered for many organizations, including Pikes Peak United Way, Greater Colorado Springs Economic Development Corp. and the Alzheimer's Association. Janet leaves a big hole in many hearts and the community.
Until the end, Janet's big laugh and willingness to get into mischief never waned. She leaves her son Austin (Kelly) Simmons, her daughter Heidi (Matt) Ryan, her grandchildren Ellie, Molly, Lily and Owen, her sister Nancy (Toby) Anderson and her brother Gary (Sally) Conover. Donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Palmer Land Conservancy. A celebration of Janet's life TBA.

I was just thinking I hadn't heard about or from Janet for a very long time - so extremely saddened finding out about this. She was a fighter. A force in the community. She loved the people of Colorado Springs and always wanted to make it a better place (and she did!). I wish I kept in touch better. God bless her family and friends who stayed with her through to the end of an awful disease.

Janet was genuinely happy and lovely inside and out. Her smile and laugh would light up a room. Janet you are free, no more illness. Fly high on the wings of angels.
