I was also deployed with Lt Col Stowe at Manas, Kyrgyzstan Winter 2011-12. He was always a positive influence to everyone that he met. I always enjoyed talking with him, and he would always help. He was also the last Commander to thank myself and a fellow deployer before we left for home, I will always remember that moment. My heart is with your family.

I was deployed with Lt Col Stowe to Manas, Kyrgyzstan this past 2011-2012 winter. His office was next door to mine. He was always wearing a smile, and was eager to help me out in anyway he could. He exemplified professionalism and selflessness. My heart goes out to his family.

My heart breaks with all of yours. LtCol Stowe was, by far, one of the best commanders I have ever served under. He was compassionate, patient, fun-loving, and took care of his people. I am grateful to have known him! It was rather devastating to arrive at the 302nd yesterday and hear the news.
Please know you are all in my prayers, and you will remain there. Our Father has him firmly in His hands, and Jason will always be in our hearts.
Godspeed, Sir. You will be greatly missed.

I just learned of Jason's passing. I became Jason's friend our senior year at Granger H.S.; I have many fond memories serving on seminary council with him and also was delighted to reacquaint at the H.S. reunion in 2009. Jason had such genuineness and sweetness and a ready smile--it's no surprise he is beloved by so many. Looking through the posted photo album with all the photos with Jason and his family just broke my heart. To his family: I'm so sorry for your loss, and I pray you feel an extra measure of God's love every time you need it.

Jason was a good friend to everyone and I never heard him gossip or speak ill of anyone, not once. He had a beautiful tenor voice and it was a lot of fun to be in Madrigals with him in high school. I was thrilled when he and Shaunel moved to Ohio, an hour away from where my family and I lived, and we were able to get together a couple of times. Nothing was better than seeing Jason at our 20 year reunion in 2009 and getting the chance to sing together again. I'm grateful to have been able to make those memories with him. He is a true gentleman. I'm honored to count him among my friends and look forward to happy reunions in the eternities. God bless you and keep you, Jason, until we meet again.

Shaunel,
One of the best things about being in the Air Force is all the wonderful people you meet. Jason and you were some of our first Air Force friends. What fun times! I remember how excited and nervous he was to be a daddy. Jason had such a sweet disposition. He will be missed! Thank you for being good friends. My heart aches for you, and your children. I will continue to pray for you all.

I'm very sorry for your loss and I offer my prayer and condolences! I was a Geo major at the Academy and had Lt. Col Stowe as an instructor. I always loved his life stories and sense of humor. Most admirable, was his genuine care for his students. I will never forget the Geo field trip he took several students on. He was so cool and fun to be around! I will miss him dearly, but know that I am a better person to have known him!

Lt Col Stowe was one of the most caring and inspiring officers I had as an instructor at the Academy. I remember on the first day of class discussing with him my interest in geo science and how my father worked in that field in a previous job. Then Maj Stowe always had interesting lessons and jokes at the beginning of class including one involving the states. His final project in the course was trying to locate a mythical buried treasure, and my class partner Alex and I joked that we would actually use our map to try to find it. I learned a number of important lessons in cartography and analysis that aided me in academia in that class, but the most important lesson I took from his course was of his love of service and family. He was a truly inspiring officer to all of us. At graduation I wrote down a list of the instructors and officers who had most positively influenced me at the Academy for the purpose of eventually sending them a note. I only wish I had sent him a message sooner. Kyrie eleison.
