Jay Lindley Obituary

Jay Lindley, 79, a resident of Manitou Springs since 1983 passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006. He was born August 27, 1927 in New Castle, IN to Ray and Ella (Lamb) Lindley. Jay married Nancy Osburn on March 12, 1988. Mr. Lindley worked for Shulemberger Well Surveying in Houston for ten years. He received his master's degree in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Jay was an elementary school math teacher in Widefield School District Three for 24 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed traveling in the United States and Mexico and was very active in Manitou Springs Community Church and the Kiwanis Club. Jay is survived by his wife, Nancy Osburn Lindley and a large extended family. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Community Congregational Church, 101 Pawnee Avenue, Manitou Springs. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Friends of Manitou Springs Library, 701 Manitou Avenue, Manitou Springs, CO 80829, ATTN: Building fund in memory of Jay Lindley.

I was so sad to hear of your great loss. Mr. Lindley was my 6th grade teacher 20 years ago at Talbott Elementary. I remember he called me "Smitty"...he was awesome. I hope that in this difficult time you can find some peace and comfort in all your memories together.
