Jay Simco Obituary

Jay Simco passed away June 26th, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. A sudden and unexpected onset of leukemia took him from us too early.

A native of Colorado Springs, he was born on May 5, 1956 and graduated from Mitchell High School. He and his brothers were Mitchell Maurader wrestlers. Jay owned Simco Roofing Company for many years, helped keep Jim ranching, and most recently operated Purgatory Cattle Company, boarding stables in Fountain, Colorado.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jack Simco and brother, Carl "Bub" Simco. He is survived by his daughters Chelsea, (Nick) Pullara of Fountain, CO, Kendra, (Eric) Stigall of San Diego, CA and his treasured grandchildren Landon, Skylar, and Jasper. He is also survived by his mother Loretta, step-father Jim, brother Joel Simco, sisters Susan McGregor, Jill (Theron) Bennett, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Jay loved his family and enjoyed life, roping, music, dancing and red pick-ups. He never missed a chance to tease and his incredible sense of humor kept everyone on their toes.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held on Monday, June 30th at 10:00 AM at his home on 610 East Kansas Ave., in Fountain, Colorado.

Loretta and Jim, my heart goes out to you and your family. So sad to hear about Jay. Remembered when we were invited out to the Canyon for branding. Remembered Jay and the girls at the ropings in fountain. Great memories. My heart hurts for you. Hopefully the grandkids will show a spark of Jay one day and you will say, "he is just like his grandpa". My sincerest condolences.

This was so sudden and so unexpected it deeply saddens me. My love and prayers go out to my family. I hadn't seen Jay in awhile and wasn't able to attend the service due to a surgery but I was there in spirit. I will always cherish our time of growing up and the little pranks you ,Bub, and Joel would play on us girls. Love you all.
