We only learned today of Jean's passing. We valued her friendship and will miss hearing from her this year. She and your dad were special people.

I have many fond memories of Bob and Jean Hemp. They were beloved neighbors of ours in San Antonio for over 30 years. I had the good fortune to know Jean and Bob and their family over the years. We shared a love for Christ Jesus, family values, cats (Henrietta, Henry and Spud) and mystery novels. Jean was an exceptional cook and her baked goods were always met with joy and a yearning for just one more bite. She was a good friend and neighbor and when I moved away to go to school, I missed our chats over tea and her sweet spirit. I pray that the Lord will comfort both of her children and all her grandchildren. She was always full of life and now she has returned to her beloved husband and her Savior.

The Cook family sends their deepest sympathies. One of the most caring ladies I have ever met. I remember fondly how she would sit in a few pews ahead of our family t King of Kings and she would smile and grin when asking about how our week was, or when being asked by my parents how Janie and James were doing. Mr and Mrs. Hemp taught me and countless others about sacrificial love for each other and family. They learned this by being faithful in the Word and being filled up by the Spirit every week. Janie and James may God continue to bless you as you continue in your parent's legacy of Loving God and Serving neighbors. The Cook Family
