Jean Michaux was ushered into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on December 11, 2023. Jean was born to Dora and Safford Wright in Dwight, Illinois in 1916. Her family moved from Illinois to the Bronx in New York City during the Great Depression. She met her husband at a USO dance in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and later traveled by train with a suitcase and a trunk across the country to Chicago and then on to California where Marion and Jean were wed before Marion went on to Alaska to serve in the Navy. Marianne was born in California and the family later moved to Texas where David was born. In 1955, the family moved to Colorado Springs into a house which at that time was on the very northeast edge of Colorado Springs, where Jean lived for the remainder of her 107 years. Jean went to Sunday School as a young woman and came to saving faith in Christ later in life. There is a phrase from a hymn which was her favorite and in recent weeks she repeated it often. It said, "My chains fell off, my heart was free. I rose went forth and followed thee." Jean prayed faithfully for her family, loved ones, and for those in need. We will never know, this side of heaven, what her prayers of faith on behalf of so many produced in our lives or how they protected us in the will of the Lord. She loved the Ladies Bible Study at Northeast Bible Chapel, which she attended for 50 years. She was a very strong witness to all those who came into contact with her to make sure they knew of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Jean is survived by her daughter, Marianne Michaux, her son, David Michaux (Lynn) as well as her grandchildren and their spouses, Sara Larson (Chris), Brian Michaux (Shannon) and her great grandchildren Joanna Vannice (Jack), Emma Michaux, Timothy Michaux, Manda Larson, and Lydia Larson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Marion Jacob Michaux. Jean was dearly loved by many, whether they knew her for many decades or for a short time at the end of her earthly life. She will be greatly missed. Praise be to God for those of us who know the Lord as our Savior, it will not be long until we see her again!
