Jean Peterson Obituary

Jean Marie Peterson passed away peacefully at her home on September 26, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving children: Jim Crofton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Tom Crofton of Richland Center, Wisconsin: and Susan Crofton of Colorado Springs. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon O. Peterson. In addition to her children, she is survived by her five grandchildren: Scott Crofton, Molly Crofton, Sam Crofton, Kate Crofton and Russell Crofton; and a great grandchild, Arabella Crofton. Jean and Vern moved to Woodmoor in 1983. She was known as an exceptional cook with a flair for entertaining. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1991. Jean had a passion for life and time with her family. Her hobbies included golf, cooking, bridge, and painting. She volunteered as a teacher's assistant for three years at Holmes Middle School, where she helped children enhance their reading skills. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jean's life will be at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church or Odyssey Hospice.
