Jeanne will always reside in our hearts. She was the most compassionate, gentle soul and she touched so many during her life's work. We lived in Colorado Springs for 30 years and had the honor of being close friends with Jeanne. Her memory and what she taught and stood for will be forever a part of us.

I met Jeanne/DayaMata when we both worked at Penrose Hospital leading to a friendship of many years. Jeanne was very kind and compassionate with a warm and friendly personality. She exuded a sense of calm and inner peace.---Though she was most at home being in Colorado with the mountains, she always spoke so fondly of her visits back to PIttsburgh to be with family for special birthdays and holidays. She adored her nephews and always spoke of them with great pride.--Jeanne's values were epitomized in her home here. For many years she was the faithful caretaker of Life Foundation's peace flame. Entering her condo you would go up a flight of stairs to her main living area, each step having a rock placed there with the words "Be Peace" .---We both loved the outdoors and undertook a number of weekend trips together to the mountains. My favorite shared memory is from a trip 2 years ago to Crested Butte, the "Wildflower Capital of Colorado". Jeanne and I gloried in a walk through an aspen grove with the light and shadow shimmering on the waist high columbine flowers-purple and white-in bloom throughout the grove. It was a magical shared experience.---I will miss my friend. Jeanne. She touched my life and countless others in a life that was shorter than we would have wished but that was lived so fully. My sympathy goes out to Jeanne's family at this time. ----Joan Leinbach

It was with great sadness that I heard Jeanne had died. My thought are with her family and I regret not being able to honor her memory by attending services. We had talked at length before I left for my visit to England and I promised her I would visit her upon my return to the US.
Jeanne was a kind a dear friend and I hold close the many memories I have.....sipping a cup of tea, visiting the peace flame, walking the labyrinth following her diagnosis and so many other special moments. My husband and I lit a candle in Ely Cathedral in honor of Jeanne......we will always remember her kind and gentle spirit. Jane Astor
