Jeannie Lantrip Obituary

Jeannie Lantrip (Dir) Jean M. "Jeannie" Lantrip was born on April 29, 1946 in Exeter, Ca. She went home to be with our Savior on Monday, March 25, 2013, surrounded by her husband and children and just one month before her 67th birthday. Born as Jean Marie Webster, but adopted by her maternal Grandparents and became Jean M. Skinner, Jeannie grew up locally in the Farmersville-Visalia area and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1964. She loved to sing in the church choir and had a strong faith in God. Jeannie was blessed with 3 children from her first marriage, Cheryl, Rod and David. She was later a single Mother and was introduced to and married Richard "Glen" Lantrip. Glen brought his two daughters, Lynde and Lisa to the family. Jeannie and Glen lived in Cambria for the past 23 years and had been long time owners of an antique mall "Country Collectibles" also in Cambria. Due to her vast knowledge of antiques she was sought after state wide as an appraiser. Jeannie was the light in any room and brought a smile to all who knew her. She gave of herself, never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. For those who were privileged enough to know Jeannie, they have many fond and loving memories. Jeannie is survived by her husband of almost 37 years, Glen; her son Rod Dir (Lori); daughters Lynde Siomiak (Greg) and Lisa Berardino (Tony); daughter in-law Teresa Dir; as well as six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Jeannie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Clark (2005), and her son, David Dir (2011). There will be a memorial service at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Visalia First Baptist (Gateway) Church, 1100 Sowell, in Visalia, Calif., (559) 732-4787. There will be a reception immediately following the memorial service. A private graveside burial will be at the Exeter Cemetery, where Jeannie will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Cheryl and son, David. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Visalia Rescue Mission.
