Jeffrey Sprague Obituary
Jeffrey Alan Sprague of Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Avon, CT beloved son of Mildred Y. Sprague and Donald R. Sprague of Avon, CT, died unexpectedly on Friday, (February 2, 2007) in Colorado. Jeff was a graduate of Avon High School in the class of 1974 and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1979. He was a well-known High School basketball and golf star. He was a four-year member of the SCSU golf team and remained an avid golfer throughout his life. Jeff was also an accomplished racquetball player. Jeff loved to fish and as a kid he spent many hours fishing in the brook at his parent's home, and brought his love of fishing with him wherever he went. He had a special love for Golden Retrievers, especially his own dog, Kelly. Jeff was employed in the construction industry working in Connecticut, Myrtle Beach, SC and Colorado. Most recently he worked for GE Johnson Construction of Colorado Springs, CO. Jeff will be remembered as a loyal friend and for his sense of humor, his outgoing personality and his joyous and contagious laugh. Most importantly, he will be remembered as a devoted son, brother and companion and for his love of family. Jeff is survived by his parents; his brother, Scott and his wife Debbie of Hebron; his brother, Bob and his wife Nancy of North Berwick, ME; two nieces, Meaghan and Kathleen of Hebron; two nephews, Timmy and Jeffrey of North Berwick, ME; and many cousins, aunts, and an uncle from his Barkhamsted and Norfolk family and by family in Maine and Massachusetts. Jeff is also survived in Colorado by his long time companion, Patricia A. Yeager and her children, Amy and Brandon Ragsdale, Carrie and Joshua Keating and Brett and Teal Rodgers. He is also survived by Patricia's grandchildren, Matthew and Noah Ragsdale, Cerenity and Jaden Keating and Justin, Amber, Kyle and Lindsey Rogers, all of Colorado Springs, CO. A Memorial Service, conducted by Jeff's cousin, Reverend Kurt Satherlie, will be held Sat., Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Richard A. Migli Athletic Scholarship Fund, c/o Avon High School, 510 West Avon Rd., Avon, CT 06001 or to the donor's charity of choice.
