Jeffrey Tompkins Obituary

Jeffrey Ira Tompkins, 66, retired Colorado Springs attorney, died February 21, 2009. He was preceded in death by parents Ira and Dorothy. Jeff was born in Orange, NJ and raised in Irvington, NJ. He attended Rutgers University followed by New York Law School. He achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. He served in Phu Bi, Vietnam in the medical service supply office. Jeff began practicing law in Colorado Springs in 1971 and continued to do so for over thirty years. His passion in life was performing in the court room. He loved doing research at the law library. He is survived by three daughters: Kristin (Jesse) of Colorado Springs; Meredith (Glenn) of Aurora; and Kim (Josh) of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Scott, Kaylee, Tyler, Andrew, and Jason. A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 27th at Cappadona's Family Service, 1020 Fillmore Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Jeff's family would like to thank the many healthcare workers who have made such a difference in Jeff's life during the past six months. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice.
