Jena Dillon Obituary

I am a more recent friend, I met her back in 2017... maybe a bit earlier, hard to tell sometimes. I was an artist for her, I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with her and watching her improve and create her own things over time. I ended up falling out of contact with her for a little while... drifting apart... and I learned of her passing quite late. My heart goes out to the family and know that I believe she was a good, honest, supportive person with an amazing creative soul.

Jena was a fellow artist, a patron and most importantly, a good friend. Though we never met in person, she has left a lasting impression and will never be forgotten. I am happy to have known and worked with her, as she was always cheerful, encouraging and supportive. It has been heartbreaking to learn that she has left us so soon. Thank you Jena, for sharing your passion and enthusiasm for art and storytelling with us, and for being a positive force in our small community. My thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends in this trying time. She will be dearly missed by many.

The power of friendship transcends distance. Even though we never met in person, I was lucky to have met Jena through a close-knit creative group. She was always very passionate about writing and art, and her love for creating brought us together as friends. The invaluable support and encouragement she gave me as a writer is irreplaceable as she helped me grow my craft through her own personal feedback and support of me. Conversations we would have to support each other were inspiring, and she was always kind and welcoming to anyone in our group. To find out we have lost such a wonderful presence in our group has left me heartbroken. No more will I see her status update with that coffee cup emoji with the words "coffee is life", hear about her love for her dog Mika, or see her excited posts about the colour she had dyed her hair. Even though I am all the way over the pond in Europe, her friendship and encouragement was highly valued, and I feel I have lost an amazing friend. Jena, I miss you so much and I hope you know how much your friendship meant to me.

It's hard to find the words... We spoke nearly every day, and to suddenly have her gone is painful. I had so many hopes for her, and she deserved so much more in life. She wanted a little house, where she could get a dog. She wanted to write a novel of her very own. She wanted to continue to improve her art. Last Christmas, she had bought me a little friendship bracelet with a sun-cat on it, because she knew how much I loved cats. I had got a matching ring and necklace to go with the sun and moon theme. I had planned to send them as a birthday gift, but she passed too soon. I've got them tucked away now, kept safe with the little notes and cards she'd mailed me over the years... Jena, I hope you know that you were so loved, and I miss you every day. No one can ever replace you.

She will be missed at Walmart. Always made her rounds asking everyone how they were. So sweet!!!
