July 23, 2024

It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce the death of Jennifer Lee Perez-Wolfkeil, 66, of Niceville, FL. She passed away suddenly on July 23, 2024 as result of injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident.
Jennifer was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 21, 1958, to Rudolph and Donna (Fassett) Perez. She graduated from Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, CO, and the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor's degree in communications. She received a master's degree in international relations from Troy State University.
A military brat and spouse, Jennifer traveled the world. She fully embraced every culture and community she came in contact with, helping to shape who she was and making many close friends along the way. While living in the Philippines, Jennifer volunteered as a radio broadcaster for the U.S. Armed Forces Radio Far East Network (FEN) and worked as a radio program officer for the U.S. Information Service (USIS). She began her teaching career in Germany as a substitute teacher at Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DODDS). She most recently taught history, government, and economics at Choctawhatchee High School in Ft Walton Beach, FL, for 25 years before retiring in 2022. She had a deep interest in U.S. and world history, international affairs, politics, voting rights, and womens' rights. She was the family historian as well as an aspiring genealogist, tracing her family roots back many generations. She was a proud and active member of the Choctawhatchee Bay Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Jennifer had a thirst for knowledge, was well read, smart, adventurous, strong of will, quick of wit, and had a great sense of humor. She loved her music. She loved a good book. She loved her morning coffee. Most importantly, Jennifer loved and adored her family above all else in this world. She will be most painfully missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years David Wolfkeil, daughter Veronika (Campbell Rhea) Wolfkeil, mother Donna Perez, brothers David (Tammy) Perez and Joseph Perez, nephews and nieces, loving sister-in-laws, and a host of long-time devoted friends.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Rudolph Perez, sister Anna Lisa Green, and brother Robert Perez.
A celebration of life will be held at Jenett D. Boldin Center, 312 Pelham Avenue, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32547, 3:00 PM CST, September 19, 2024. Jennifer had a zest for life and loved everything bright and shiny. Please join us in your most joyous colors to celebrate our magpie.
Burial will be in the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO at a date and time to be determined.
