Jerry Dill Obituary

Born June 29, 1928 to Richard and Mathilda Dill in West Point, Nebraska. They were members of the First Lutheran Church of West Point, NE. He graduated from High School at West Point, Nebraska and attended college at Brookings, South Dakota. Jerry joined the service when he was 17 years old. He spent 21 years in the service with ASA (Army Security Agency) as an Intelligence Officer. He attended the Presidio Language School in Monterey, California. He graduated top of his class and gave the graduating speech in Russian. He was a Russian and Japanese linguist, also spoke 5 other languages. Jerry retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He was also a member of Mensa. He married Betty Lou Templin, October 11, 1969. He is survived by his wife Betty, his two sons Mark (Lois) Dill of West Virginia and Larry Dill of Florida; and two step children Robert (Paula) Templin of Monument, CO and Kristie (Reggie) Kajer of Ridgway, CO; and seven grandchildren - Lawrence Dill, Jr., Jennifer Monroe, Travis Dill, Darren Dill, Rob (Emrys) Templin, Jesse Kajer and Layla Kajer and four great grand children. He will be greatly missed by all, as he was a loving and giving husband, father, step-father and Grandpa. A Memorial Service will be held on March 27, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. with graveside service following at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home.
