Jerry John Gallegos, age 71, passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 23, 2021.

Jerry was born December 4, 1950 in La Madera, New Mexico. He graduated from Mesa Vista High School and went on to graduate from Trinidad State College with a degree in electronics. After graduation, moved to Colorado Springs after accepting a position as a technician at Ampex where he worked for more than 20 years. Then became a machinist for Kaman and Magnum Manufacturing where he later retired from.

Jerry is survived by his wife Prescilla Gallegos of 51 years and his son Chris Gallegos (Susan Alexander); his sisters Jane Garcia (David), Charlene Trujillo (Mariano), brothers Joseph Gallegos (Carolyn), Charles Gallegos (Anita), brothers in law Porfirio Alire (Mae), Arturo Alire (Veronica), David Alire, sisters in law Pauline Varoz, Joanne Wiggins, Lucy Varela (Roy), Judy Rivera (Paul) and many nieces and nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose D. Gallegos and Celina Gallegos, sister Annette Trujillo, nephew Jason Trujillo, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Jerry loved being around family and spending time on the family's ranch in northern New Mexico. He enjoyed working on his trucks and going to car shows.



A viewing will be held on September 30th. 2021, from 10am to 1pm at Angelus Chapel 1104 S. Circle Drive with a service to follow from 1pm to 3pm. A burial will be held at a later date in La Madera, New Mexico. All are welcome to attend. The family would like to thank Penrose St. Francis Hospital and Pikes Peak Hospice for their compassionate care.
