Jerry LaQuey, born Jan. 7, 1940, passed away, at his home in W.P., CO, Aug. 27, 2018 after ill health.
He was born in Dalhart, Texas. He attended grammar schools in Ft. Morgan, Gunnison, Ft. Collins, graduating high school in Center, CO. He attended Ft. Lewis College, completing his degree at San Juan College, while employed at Frontier Airlines. He went on to Dallas Institute of Mortuary Service in 1966. He was a funeral director for 34 years in his Albuquerque, Farmington and Pagosa Springs mortuaries.
He was involved through the years in Rotary, Optimist Club, Jaycee's & Served as Grand Exalted Ruler of the Elks organization in Farmington.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Farmington, N.M., and Pagosa Springs, CO.
He loved exploring the back roads of CO & N.M., antiques and traveling. He lived life to the fullest!
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sheree, and one son & one daughter and two brothers. Also Sheree's daughter's, Lisa Hleavos and Kathy Amen & two grandson's, Hunter and Cade Snell. Predeceased by his son, Kevin LaQuey.
Memorial services will be held in Farmington later this fall.
