On March 22, 2023 Jerry Duane McGill passed away at home with family at his bedside. He was 90 years old.
Jerry was born in Iva, South Carolina October 18,1932. He was the oldest child of Margaret Latham McGill and Cole Livingston Blease McGill.
He enlisted in the Air Force after high school graduation. He retired from the military after 26 years of service. Then went to work for ITT on projects at Diego Garcia and Antarctica.
For 60 years Jerry was a longtime active member of the Al Kaly Shriners, Past Master, and secretary of El Paso Lodge #13, Eastern Star, and Southern Colorado Consistory where Jerry held the prestigious 33 degree. Jerry enjoyed his time and efforts serving others through his many masonic activities, especially raising funds to treat the children and Shriners Hospital.
Jerry married Golda Sanders Hultgren December 7,1958. They were married 55 years before her passing August 28 2013. His parents and sister Lou Anne Lewis preceded him in death. Jerry is survived by brother Billy McGill, daughters Melissa Brekke, Linda Harward (Robert), grandsons Robert Brekke, Don Brekke, Justin Harward (Shannon) and 6 great grandchildren.
Masonic Funeral Service will be held at El Paso Lodge #13, 1150 Panorama Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80904 Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 1pm and reception downstairs to follow.
