The greatest joy in my life was the gift from God when Jesse was born. He was an easy-going, loving, intelligent, kind, gentle child. His first word was "Hi", which he said to me as an infant in the crib. He was artistic, creative, had a well-developed sense of humor, loved school, cared about the less fortunate, and loved his career. I now know what grief-stricken means. My heart literally aches from the loss of my only child. Yet, I know that the Good Lord granted him His Grace and Mercy and took him in the blink of an eye. Jesse is now at peace and in the Lord's hands. You are in my heart forever. I love you my baby, my punkin' pie. Mom.

When the kids were all little, we shared a garden with Dena, Mickey and Jesse. One afternoon, I was watering while the kids were supposed to be pulling weeds. There was a lot of giggling and I wondered what was going on but they assured me that they were up to "nothing". Later that fall I suggested that we see if the pumpkins were ready for picking. To my surprise and joy, every pumpkin was sporting a wide grin. The boys had secretly carved a jack-Or-lantern face in each that day they were pulling weeds. There was Jesse, surrounded by grinning pumpkins, his face alight with joy and mischief! When I remember Jesse, I will remember that joy and the grinning pumpkins.
