Jimmy Arellano Obituary

Jimmy E. Arellano, 51, of Colorado Springs passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 7AM. Jimmy was born February 29, 1956 in La Junta to Benny and Sarah (Guzman) Arellano. Jimmy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joette and Jim Dill of Security; his sister, Cindy Arellano of Colorado Springs; his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Gary Swatek of Colorado Springs; his sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Jesse Zambrano of Fountain; nieces and nephews, Tracy Neiger, Misty Beemon, Jimmy Dill, Jr., Patrick Dill, Brandon Dill, Kylie Swatek, Daniel Zambrano and Destiny Zambrano; and his great-nieces and nephews, Dontay, Sarah, Aspen, Cidney, Jax, Kayla and PJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Sarah Arellano; and his grandmother, Opal Guzman. A visitation will be held from 4-7PM with a rosary scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 7PM at Dove-Witt Fountain Valley Chapel, 6630 S. Hwy 85/87, Fountain. Funeral services will be in Friday, August 17, 2007 at 10AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, Security with burial at Evergreen Cemetery to follow. Jimmy was a barber and fence maker who lived in Security most of his life. Being a leap year baby made him quite special in "real" birthdays that were celebrated. His love for his family was most important to his heart. He enjoyed being with his nieces and nephews and considered them his own. He will be very deeply missed by all his family and friends. His contagious smile and laughter will be forever remembered in the hearts of all.

My prayers and thoughts are with Jimmy's family and friends today. Jimmy and I spent many hours talking about the puzzle of his life and how the Lord loves us. Jimmy always raised many questions relevant to his belief in Christ. Now he knows all the answers! On the center wall of my office hangs one of the many puzzles Jimmy put together(he loved his puzzles). This puzzle was for me... it illustrates the Bible verse, John 11:25. It helped me through a difficult time in my life, I pray this verse may bring comfort to you all as well.
Thank you Jimmy, you are a great friend and I will miss you and look forward to seeing you again and continuing our relationship in the Lord.

Jimmy's outgoing personality and mischievous laugh are forever etched in my memory. He always wanted to be a friend to those around him and to help any one who asked. He has touched the lives he was supposed to and gone back home. The peace that was elusive at times in life is what envelops him now. God Bless.
