Joan Deardorff Obituary

Born in Salem, Massachusetts and raised by her parents Arthur Arsenault and Helen (Horne) Arsenault which preceded her in death. She graduated from high school in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1950 and went on to nursing school and graduated in 1954. She was touring in Europe with Col. and Mrs. Riley as a governess where she met her future husband Marion Keith Deardorff in Brussels, Belgium whom was in the U.S. Army stationed in Auschaufenberg, Germany. Eventually they settled in Security, Colorado in 1965 where she resided until her death.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Marion and her son Scott. She is survived by her 2 sons John (Oregon), Thomas (Utah) and daughter Mary (Colorado) and also multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Visitation will take place Thursday & Friday, September 22 & 23, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Directors Chapel. The burial will be the following Monday at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado at 1:00 p.m.
