My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to Kay Gillard and her family on the passing of her Dear Mother Joan Goodwin. Being only a young teen, I did not really know Mrs. Goodwin - but my own Mother and Father - Al and Betty Tripp were very good friends of Major and Mrs. Goodwin while both families were stationed overseas in England. I remember how fondly my Mother and Father always spoke of their good friends, the Goodwins and what a pleasure it was to know them.

Joan was the nice lady who lived across the street (Heatherwood) when we first moved to Colorado Springs. She is one of those people you will always remember as going out of her way to help and be a friend. The days on Heatherwood were some of the best in my life and the Goodwin’s were part of that. Heaven is only better with her there.

Jo was the most amazing woman. We became friends about 12 years ago and through all her aches and pains and difficulties in recent years, she remained positive and upbeat. She was always more interested in us and what we were doing and in our health and was the first to offer prayer. She was a warm devout woman who strove to live her

faith in all ways. She was giving of herself and always opened her home and her heart to friends and soon-to-be friends. We always loved spending time with her whether it was just a brief phone call or a long lingering lunch to catch up. We've always loved Jo and I'm so grateful that she knew that. She will be missed by all who knew her.
