Joan Faye Lauppe, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on July 3, 2021 in Payson, Utah after an 18-year struggle with health issues. She was born October 11, 1941 in Butler, South Dakota to Clifford and Marion (Engebretson) Busch. She grew up on a farm outside of Butler and graduated from Bristol High School in 1959.

On November 18, 1960, she married Lawrence Leroy Lauppe, in Roswell, New Mexico. Together, they had 4 children, Deborah, Laurie, Michael, and Pamela. As a family they lived in multiple states, including New Mexico, New York, and California. In 1976, they moved to Colorado and bought a home in Colorado Springs. In 1979, they purchased a laundry and dry-cleaning business, Holiday Coin Laundry. Lawrence and Joan worked the business together until 2004, when they sold the business so Lawrence could care for Joan after her stroke. Years prior to her stroke, Joan became a CNA and cared for elderly patients in nursing facilities. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed making clothes and blankets for family and friends. After Lawrence passed away, Joan moved to Utah where she spent her final few months.

Joan is survived by her children: Deborah Horn of Colorado Springs, CO; Laurie (Perry) Tryon of Lathrop, CA; Michael (Darla) Lauppe of Colorado Springs, CO; Pamela (James) Sparks of Spanish Fork, UT; nine grandchildren: Tiffany (Jerret) Schaar, Anthony (Mari) Johnson, Joey (Kym) Lopes, Ryan (Katt) Horn, Thomas (Idalys) Horn, AJ Horn, Nichole (Liz) Haskins, Jessica (Braiden Koyle) Burr, Michael Burr; three great-grandsons (Carter, Cameron, and Leith) and two great-granddaughters (due in December). Joan is survived by her brother, Lyle (Julaine) Busch of Bristol, SD; brother, Jerry (Sharon) Busch of Bristol, SD; and sister, Carolyn (Frank) Roitsch, of Hayden, CO; sister-in-law, Barbara (Leland) Andres of Littleton, CO; brother-in-law, Raymond Dickey of Augusta, KS; sister-in-law, Diane Lauppe of Firestone, CO.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her father and mother, Clifford and Marion Busch; her husband's parents; brother-in-law, Steve Lauppe; sister-in-law, Betty Dickey; nephew, Leslie Busch; and nephew, Rick Dickey.
