Jacqueline "JoAnn" Brechbill, 86, died Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Palm Desert, CA. She was born to Harold and Frances Ruggenberg in St. Maries, ID on July 12, 1937.
After a 30 year career with the U.S. Forest Service, JoAnn became an ordained Presbyterian minister. Her ministry took her to several cities around the United States, including Colorado Springs where she served as an associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church. She was passionate in her faith and love for Jesus Christ. JoAnn had an amazing life; she loved spending time with her family, was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, and was fortunate enough to visit many countries around the world, including three trips to the Holy land. JoAnn is survived by her two sons, Lance (Jeffrey) Brechbill of Rancho Mirage California, Lane (Julie) Brechbill of Livermore, CA; siblings Jay (Ethel) Ruggenberg of Spokane, WA, Judy (Dale) Yarber of Rathdrum, ID, Jeannie (Joe) Spiesman of St. Maries, ID; and many nieces, nephews. and friends.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs on April 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held later this summer in St. Maries, ID.

JoAnn was one of my best friends while she was an associate pastor here in Lakeland Florida. She was very wise and a wonderful person. I just was wondering what had happened to her lately, and I was so sad to hear she has passed. I´m sure everyone who knew her is sad to see her no longer with us. She was a great friend.

I haven't seen my aunt JoAnn in many years. She was married to my uncle June (Marion Luther). I remember seeing them at holidays with their 2 boys, Lance and Lane. After they divorced, we all lost track of each other over time. She was my favorite aunt. I remember how tall and beautiful she was. She was always kind to me and my two sisters. A couple of days ago I had a strong feeling about her. I googled her name and was saddened to learn she had passed away last month. My sincere sympathies go out to her two sons, Lance and Lane (my cousins).
