JoAnn M. Spears, beloved sister, daughter, aunt and honorary grandmother, passed away on May 2, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on November 9, 1954 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Jess and Margaret Spears.
JoAnn graduated from Wasson High School in 1972. After graduation, she fulfilled her lifelong passion for helping animals by becoming a Dog Groomer, which she committed 23 years of her life to. In addition to her love of animals, she was filled with a loving devotion to her family, acting as a care taker to her father in sickness, grandmother's McCord and Spears in their old age, and offering daily support to her mother, as well as helping her brother in his office. JoAnn was also very proud of her Scottish
Heritage and spent her time involved in various different hobbies.
JoAnn is survived by her mother, Margaret Spears, siblings Donna Spears Clausen (Fred), Jerry (Joyce) Spears, and Douglas (Susan) Spears, honorary grandchildren: Zakk and Zander Cope, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Jess R Spears and grandparents Alec McCord, and Fayne and Ed Spears.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, May 16, 2021, 2:00 pm, Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Ln. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905.

I am so sorry to read this obituary. JoAnn was great fun in high school, always laughing and smiling, always up for a good time. We are on the same yearbook page and sat in the same row for graduation. I am sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.
