Joanne Pendleton Obituary

Joanne Pendleton, 77, passed away on April 6, 2016. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 58 years and was formerly from Canaan, Indiana. She was a homemaker and worked at Air Academy Junior H.S. for several years.

Joanne and her twin sister Mary were born on July 4th, 1938 (a pair of firecrackers) to William B. and Enic Opal (Sigmund) Foley in Madison, Indiana. She graduated from Canaan H.S. where she was a cheerleader. On June 15th, 1956 she married Waldo F. Pendleton in Canaan, Indiana.

Joanne enjoyed camping with her RV groups and playing card games with her friends. She was fond of music, either listening, dancing or singing. She was a member of The Church at Woodmoor. She was also a Lifetime Member of the Auxiliary VFW and a member of the American Legion #0209. She actively participated in Family Campers and AARP #1100.

Joanne was known to many as just "Mom." Whether it was the many students she encouraged (or straightened out) at the junior high school or her children's friends who were welcomed to her home, she made them all feel loved and respected.

She is survived by her loving husband, Waldo F.; her children: Waldo S. (Cheryl) and Rebecca (William); her sister, Mary; and sister in-law, Susie B; her grandchildren: Khala Watson, Colson Watson, Brigitte Green and Cory Hankemeier; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill Foley and D.R. Foley, sisters Margie Whitton and Maxine Gordon, and two infant children.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11th 2016 at The Shrine of Remembrance. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12th 2016 at the Shrine of Remembrance. A reception will be held following the memorial at the I.B.E.W.
