Joanne Rysell Obituary

Ms. Rysell, Colorado Springs, CO., died after a long struggle with illness at Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 23rd. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who was very active in the Colorado Springs community performing various volunteer activities. Ms. Rysell is survived by her daughter, Debra Zacharias and her husband, Andrew, granddaughter and grandson, Jennifer and Tim Warner, of Winter Springs, FL, her son Dennis R. Rysell of Efland, NC, and her son Roger W. Rysell and his fiance, Anne Blake, of Worcester MA as well as her longtime, loving caregiver and companion, Dagi Brost of Colorado Springs, CO. She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Robert C. Rysell and her son Robert "Bob" C. Rysell of Colorado Springs, CO. Ms. Rysell was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois, lived many years and raised her family in Westboro, MA until moving to Colorado Springs in 1980 when her husband retired. She loved animals and was a kind hearted woman who touched many lives. She will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A Memorial Service will be held at the Swan-Law Funeral Home Cascade Chapel, 501 North Cascade Ave. on Sunday, March 28th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joanne's loving memory to the Humane Society.
