John Anderson Obituary

John R. Anderson, 88 of Rush, died August 23, in Colorado Springs. John was born January 3, 1917 in Kendrick, Colorado to William Stone and Elsie (Horn) Anderson. He was a rancher and farmer on the family's homestead for all of his life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores (Stokes); two sons: Alvin (Carol) and Darrel (LeEtta); four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Open Door Community Church, 2055 Log Road, Ellicott, Colorado. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Open Door Community Church, 2055 Log Road, Calhan, CO 80808.

It is with great sorrow I read of John's passing. He was a very kind a giving man. I will always treasure the times he allowed me and my son to enjoy hunting on his property. Those memories are timeless and I owe him many thanks for his generousity and kindness. God Bless him and comfort his family.
