John Boucher Obituary

John "Jack" O. Boucher (Baldy) went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2007, at the age of 81 after a bout with cancer. Jack will be missed by all his family and friends for his integrity, compassion and generosity. Jack would often say, "It's an awesome thing that man can talk to God." Jack left his mark on Colorado Springs and southern Colorado. Jack was born January 10, 1926 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Horace and Esther Boucher. The Boucher family moved to the Corral Valley Ranch near Ellicott, CO in 1928 where Jack was raised. Jack brought his family back there in 1964 and remained there until his death. He attended Ellicott High School and in 1944 was drafted into the Army, serving in the Philippines and Japan during World War II. Jack met Shirley Chambers in Colorado Springs where they were married on April 21, 1951. Jack was a salesman for Standard Oil Company, American Hardware Mutual Insurance and Vermeer of Colorado where he worked from 1973 until his death. For a few years he operated Baldy's Trees. During their 56 years of marriage, Jack and Shirley attended and served at the Chadbourne Spanish Mission; Southside Bible Chapel, Limon Bible Chapel and Northeast Bible Chapel. He faithfully served as a deacon at Northeast for about 30 years. Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley; their children Dan, Caren (Richard) Funk, Joe (Rhoda), Andy (Angie); 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as by his siblings Bob of Washington; Frances Richardson, of Albuquerque; Philip of Washington; and Ed of Foxfield, Colorado. Services for Jack will be held at Northeast Bible Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2007. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made Family Life Services, 1880 South Cascade, Colorado Springs, 80906.

Dear Shirley and family,
Our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. We know you do not grieve as those who have no hope...we will be united one day...where there will be many more days with Jack than those without him. We are very glad the Lord brought you and Jack into our lives 20 years ago. God be near,
Orville and Mary

I'm so sorry to find out that Baldy passed away, but I rejoice knowing he is in the arms of Jesus! Baldy was a good guy, it's been almost 20 years since I've seen hide nor hair of any Bouchers, but I'll never forget any of you. You're good people. God Bless!

Andy & Angie,
We did not have the opportunity of meeting your father although we feel as though we know him by the stories you've shared and the Godly legacy that lives on because of his commitment to Christ. We are thankful for the influence he had on your lives because your lives are continuing that legacy, not only in your own children, but in so many others! Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I can only imagine the celebration that is going on in heaven right now!
We love you guys,
Randy, Pam, Brandon, Nathan & Joshua Flanery

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Boucher once at a Bible study, he was highly spoken of by a dear mutual friend of ours, Mr. Bill Temple. I can see from his legacy that he lived a full and happy life, and now has gone home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

My heart and prayers go to the beloved family of Mr. Boucher and to the multitude of dear friends that they have.
