John Brandt, Jr. of Las Vegas, died May 14, 2007. He was born May 28, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. After his marriage to Jeanine (Hartman) Brandt on June 17, 1961, they moved to Chicago where he was an assistant to the Trustee of Finance for the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Cook County. While in Chicago, he was very active in his father's many political campaigns for both State Senate and City Alderman. John and Jeanine returned to Colorado Springs in 1963 where he was the Treasurer of Security Savings & Loan. They moved to Las Vegas in 1967 where John was employed at Nevada Savings & Loan and later Primerit Savings & Loan as Treasurer. He was retired in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanine Brandt; daughters, Mary Kay and Suzy; grandson, Alex; and sister, Therese Smogolski of Chicago. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and especially his most precious grandson, Alex. A Memorial Mass will be held in Chicago and internment will be in Colorado Springs.
