John Christenson Obituary

John T. Christenson died on April 12, 2006 in Denver, Colorado at the age of 86. He was born in Great Falls, Montana and graduated from high school in Whitefish, Montana, where he met his future wife, Myrtle Bangeman. In 1942 he graduated from the University of Minnesota, magna cum laude, joined the Army, and married Myrtle. Discharged as master sergeant after three and a half years in Iran, he returned to Spokane to teach at North Central High School and went on to become executive director of the Spokan Education Association. In 1973, John and Myrt relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado and began a new chapter of their lives as owners of multiple personnel placement businesses. They retired in 1986 and Myrt died in 1988. Her ashes were scattered along Sheep Creek in the mountains of northern Washington state. Both of their children: Karen and Grant, survive. John passed on to his children a profound reverence for nature and in honor of his wishes they will joyfully scatter his ashes along with Myrt's this summer. In memory of John, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 455 Sherman, Denver, CO, 80203.

God Bless you Uncle John - You've taught us a lot about life, giving and forgiving and shared your knowledge of the outdoors with us. We will always cherish the times we shared with you. May you find peace with God. Our sympathy to Karen and Grant.

Dear Karen & Grant,

Your father and mother made a huge dofference in my life. They sold me Accel Temporaries nearly 21 years which I believe catapulted my future career. As Emerson states..."to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better.." this is how I will remember John & Myrt. God's Speed-Colleen
