John Craven Obituary
John was born in Asheville, North Carolina. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until his retirement in 1974 as a Senior Master Sergeant E-8. After his retirement he worked for the Post Office for 16 years.
He married Anne O'Connor in 1957 while stationed in England. They had 2 children, Christina Marie and John Howard.
He was preceded in death by Anne, his first wife, and Demarce Woodard, his second wife.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina Marie; son, John Howard; granddaughter, Elizabeth Williams; and great-granddaughters: Genevieve and Annalise Williams.
He loved to fish and golf. John affected those who knew him and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Columbarium of Faith.

John left a lasting impression on all he met. A more caring and loving person I do not know. May you spend your eternity fishing and golfing near those you love. Godspeed John. I miss you!

John was a patient when I worked at a family practice he attended. He was always so kind, lovable, patient and full of smiles. Though I did not spend long interacting with him, it was enough to leave a deep impression all these years later.

I feel honored to have been John's brother-in-law for about twenty years. I was with him last for 3 days in early June, 2014, carrying he and his papers to various offices for entry in assisted living. I salute this old soldier; he left his mark in my memory.
