John Farady Obituary

Lt. Col. John Thomas Farady USAF (ret), a long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at his home in Sun Lakes, AZ. on Sept. 12, 2015. He was 92. His last assignment with the Air Force was as the Contracting Officer at the USAFA.

John was born in Cambridge MA in 1922, and held Irish Citizenship by birth right. He went to Malden Catholic High School, earned a degree in History at the University of Maryland and did post-graduate work at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After retiring from the Air Force he taught eighth grade reading and science at Corpus Christi School in Colorado Springs. He was also the founder and CEO of the non-profit organization Affiliated Inventors.

He was an avid runner and participated in the Arizona Senior Olympics until age 86, earning medals each time. He was a long time volunteer for a local organization,"Neighbors Who Care."

He is Survived by his wife Susan of Sun Lakes, Arizona, three children from a previous marriage: Ellen Rennels, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Michael Farady (Kathy), of Austin, Texas; Susan E Farady of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He is also survived by six step children: Katherine Skitt (Rick); Judith Dodge (David); Patricia Larson (Bruce), William Kennison (Debi); Martha Radigan; and Mary K. Farady/Sultze (Robert). He is survived by 18 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services, with full Military Honors, will be announced at later date.
