John Eugene Godsey, 75, died peacefully Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home in Chandler, Arizona.

He leaves his wife Peggy Godsey; his daughters Dana Schafer (Chuck) and Allison Martin; his sons Jerry Godsey (Amber), Jon Michael Fieldcamp and Jason Clay; three siblings Rick Godsey (Ali), Deborah Knuckey, Rhonda Godsey and his three grandchildren (Presley and Briston Schafer and Gracyn Martin); He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Eugene Godsey and his mother Ella Maria Godsey.

John was born March 27, 1946 in Brookfield, Missouri. The family later moved to Buena Vista, Colorado where John graduated high school. After high school, John was drafted into the army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Following his service in the army, John returned to Colorado. He made his home in Colorado Springs for over 50 years before retiring to Chandler, Arizona. During those years John had a very successful career in construction with GE Johnson. He took great pride in his work and relished the friends and business associates he made during his time in business.

John's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren. He also had a passion for playing guitar and singing, going camping and serving his church community.

A memorial funeral service is to be held December 11, 2021 at 10:30 am at Crossroads Chapel in Colorado Springs.
