John Frederick Kaufman
January 2, 1927 - December 8, 2017
John Frederick Kaufman, age 90, passed away surrounded by his family at Winslow Court Retirement Center in Colorado Springs on Friday, December 8, 2017.
He was born on January 2, 1927 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Earl and Dorothy Kaufman. He had three siblings; brothers Joe and Jim
Kaufman and sister Barbara Hetrick.
John served in the United States Army during World War II.
John married Phyllis Palmer on July 19, 1947 and they had 3 children, John D. Kaufman, Phyllis "Meg" Wagner and Wayne Kaufman, all of Colorado Springs.
John was a long time resident of Colorado Springs where he worked for the city as an underground electric inspector. He was active in his Episcopalian church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars club.
John was preceeded in death by his wife, Phyllis, his brothers Jim and Joe, and his grandson, Paul Fischer. He is survived by his children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial service planned for 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017, Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado.

My mother always enjoyed his company. She passed away earlier this year but truly loved her Winslow Court family. Always remember all the good times as you celebrate your dad's life.
